All the advantages of modular building, in a custom package that seamlessly blends 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom family living with an exciting open plan design. The dramatic double volume living space opens to western exposure with walls of glass. All Miele appliances. Hand crafted, custom built cabinetry. Designer fixtures. Landscaped with mature trees. The last time a Proto home was featured on Curbed—this place in Beverly Grove—it got a pretty chilly reception from commenters, many of whom found the house to be "out of character and out of scale with the neighborhood." Hopefully that won't be the case with this iteration, which to our eyes looks very much in line with the dominant Venice aesthetic, although on the other hand, it's also significantly larger than the humble stucco box it replaced.
