Downtown is finally about to get its Whole Foods, on November 4, and now's the time to jump if you want to live really really close to it. Like on top of it. The grocery store will sit on the ground floor of an apartment building called Eighth & Grand, which is now pre-leasing, as announced in a press release today. Apartments in the building have "9-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows," polished concrete floors, Italian cabinets, and quartz counters, with design by Commune, the people behind the nearby Ace Hotel. Residents will also have access to the 5,400-square-foot gym, a "sky lounge" atop the seven-story building, two pools, grocery delivery from WF, and a 25-person screening room. But, as expected, Eighth & Grand will be renting out at prices that are in step with its retail tenant's rep as "Whole Paycheck."
According to its website, the 700-unit Carmel Partners' project offers 13 floorplans, with studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. The smallest studio starts at $1,998 for 516 square feet. One-bedrooms start at $2,662 for 716 square feet. Below are renderings of some units, amenities, and the cheapest floorplans for each room configuration.
