A brawny South Pasadena Craftsman designed by Charles and Henry Greene, the California architects who refined and popularized the style with "ultimate bungalows" like the Gamble House, was put on the market late last week for $2.995 million. Commissioned by the widow of US president James Garfield and built in 1904, the chalet-style beaut is offered fresh off a "thorough renovation and reclamation" by the current owners, who bought it for around $2 million in 2006.
