Historic Queen Anne Victorian in Monrovia Asking $899,000

If you enjoyed Curbed's recent round-up of notable examples of Victorian-era architecture around Los Angeles, here's a nice chaser. Known as the CZ Culver House, this pretty pink Queen Anne in Monrovia was designed way back in 1887 by Samuel and Joseph Cather Newsom for rancher-turned-developer Charles Culver. A city landmark with Mills Act tax benefits, the four-bedroom, two-bath home hit the market last month. Per the listing, its features include a front porch with turned posts and spindles, bay windows, built-in bookcases and seating, pocket doors, elaborate arches, high ceilings, wainscoting, a curved mahogany staircase, and stained glass. Updates include a modern kitchen, new windows, a new roof, copper plumbing, and dual-zone A/C. Sited on an 8,460-square-foot lot, it's asking $899,000.
