Just last week, Downtown's handsome and historic Union Station got some money to get to work on the first round of the host of big improvements that are headed for the site under its long-term master plan (that money was for bike- and pedestrian-focused upgrades to the area around the station). Today Metro's uploaded a video that offers a new, updated look at the Union Station Master Plan and what changes it might bring to the local landmark. The animated aerial view shows the possible phases, step-by-step, including upgrades that could allow for trains to enter the station from two directions (instead of one, as they do now) and, further down the line, possible development adjacent to the station.
