Actor/Saturday Night Live alum/new KFC Colonel Norm Macdonald has put the two-bedroom Santa Monica condo he bought in 2008 up for sale, perhaps in part because he feels a little out of place in the neighborhood. The actor tells the Wall Street Journal "everyone except for me is in shape," adding that when he'd go to the nearby gym, "I'd go to work out and everyone is stronger than me." Aside from being in a physically demanding 'hood, about two blocks from the beach, the two-bedroom live/work loft has a lot to offer.
The roughly 2,000-square-foot loft holds two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and "a large dramatic window line" that wraps around the corner of the building, says the listing. Views of the Pacific are visible through some those windows and the apartment also has a garage-style, roll-up patio door and two private terraces, plus high ceilings, in-unit laundry, and two parking spaces. Macdonald says that he chose the area because of its incredible walkability, important because he doesn't know how to drive. Now the area "seems like more of a young man's place."
The condo, which Macdonald purchased in 2008 for $1.8 million, is now listed for $2.2 million.
