What $1,750 a Month Rents You in Los Angeles Right Now

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,750.

↑ You had us at "Charming upstairs unit in triplex ONE BLOCK away from the Silver Lake Reservoir!" But for those who need to be swayed, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment has 625 square feet of space, 1950s tile in the eat-in kitchen, a stove and a fridge, on-site laundry, plus air conditioning and ceiling fans. There's even one garage parking space. Rent is $1,695.

↑ This Sawtelle one-bedroom has new crown molding, new laminate floors, a fridge, two wall-mounted air conditioning units (bedroom, living room), and one assigned parking space all in a pretty cool neighborhood. The only thing it doesn't have? On-site laundry. Rent is $1,695.

↑ The details are light for this two-bedroom, one-bedroom East Pasadena apartment, but what is known is that it has covered parking, new laminate floors and granite counters, and "master cabinetry" in the kitchen. The pictures also suggest sufficient closet space and good light. The rent here is $1,650.

↑ This Pico-Robertson one-bedroom, groundfloor apartment has been remodeled and includes a dishwasher, "wall heating," granite countertops, brand new laminate wood floors, and hookups for in-unit laundry facilities. Pets are welcome and there's a parking space too. Rent is $1,850.

↑ Not too far from the North Hollywood Arts District, this classy second-floor apartment has not one but two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Laminate floors run throughout the unit, which includes a stove (no fridge?) and a balcony. The kitchen isn't the roomiest we've ever seen, but there's a pass-through window so at least you don't feel trapped in there. The bedrooms have mirrored double doors and vertical blinds; there are at least two ceiling fans, which is good because there are no details about the air conditioning situation here. Rent is $1,850.
