Classically Cool A-Frame Eichler in Balboa Highlands Tract Wants $779k

The Balboa Highlands tract in Granada Hills is a historic group of homes by mid-century developer Joseph Eichler. Even among the other fabulous and significant residences, this 1964 A-frame house in the swanky community certainly stands out. Walls of glass, an atrium, and polished concrete floors are some key features of the five-bedroom, two-bathroom pad designed by A. Quincy Jones (and, we assume, his usual partner for projects in the tract, Frederick Emmons).

"Painstakingly restored to its original glory," the house still has its original mahogany paneling; the clock has been turned back on the kitchen, which is also restored, and many new additions, like the built-ins, are "period-correct." The 2,099 -square-foot abode, which receives Mills Tax breaks, holds a dining room, family room, and living room with a large fireplace, and sits on a lot that's just over a quarter acre. Last sold for $565,000 in 2009, the house is now listed for $779,000.
