Maybe the city wants it so bad because Los Angeles has such a long history with football, dating all the way back to the 1940s, when the Los Angeles Dons and the Los Angeles Rams were the home teams, when Gilmore Stadium was still around at Beverly and Fairfax, packed with spectators.
