What $2,100 a Month Rents You in Los Angeles Right Now

New, 6 comments

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for around a certain dollar amount in various Los Angeles neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with listings for today's price: $2,100.

↑ Dang, Glendale, this is lovely: a two-bedroom Craftsman on a residential street. The house has an office/bonus room, a washer and dryer ready to go, air conditioning, a new paint job, a snappy kitchen, a fireplace that looks functional/blackened, and a nice porch. The parking seems to be taken care of by the long driveway reaching into the backyard. Rent is $2,100.

↑ Located on the second floor of this attractive Mid-Wilshire duplex, the two-bedroom unit for rent is outfitted with what looks like a non-functioning fireplace, as well as a dining room, a breakfast room, and hook-ups for a washer and dryer. The apartment also comes with one parking space, but don't worry, there's "ample street parking." Not sure if that can be trusted. Rent is $2,100.

↑ The Sawtelle building may not be the most inviting, but inside, this 1,000-square-foot two-bedroom is a whole different story. There appears to be a fair amount of closet space, a very slim balcony, and woody floors and tile throughout. The front-facing unit also has one and a half bathrooms, and will accept your smallish pets. The unit comes with two parking spaces. Rent is $2,100.

↑ This apartment has you right where it wants you. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom spot is right on the Sunset Strip and if you want to be there, this is what you've gotta pay. The unit's not shabby in the least; the stove is so new, the sticker's still on it. All the kitchen appliances and countertops are brand new, too, and so is the air conditioning and heating. One parking space, a shared laundry room, and one parking space are part of the deal. Rent is $2,100.

↑ Sure, this rental might not have all the quirky, vintage charm of the dream Los Feliz apartment, but it does have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. What's more charming than not having to share a bathroom? The kitchen recently received a cabinet-and-counter makeover and new appliances (dishwasher!). The building has on-site laundry (start saving those quarters) and one parking spot included with rent. Pets are allowed with an additional deposit (though it does state that "no dogs are preferred," they'll obviously take them for $500.) The rent is $2,100.
