Bold open living room with pine wood ceiling, hardwood floors, sun drenched rooms and spectacular panoramic views. This unique one of a kind three level home offers one bedroom on each flooring, loft at the attic. Kitchen is fully equipped, pantry room and laundry room, fireplace, claw tubs, tin copper stained ceilings, large yard. 2 car garage."
Well, as its listing points out, this house is certainly unique! It's got a certain Steampunkish quality, even. Of course, uniqueness can be a bit of a disadvantage when it comes to marketing a property, and it would likely behoove the sellers to invest in some professional staging and photos in order to broaden the home's appeal. But the fact that they didn't means we get to enjoy the awesome painting of Gloria Swanson ready for her close-up in Sunset Boulevard, and that weird face sculpture on the floor of the bathroom.
Another rather tricky factor to contend with is the property's location: high in the Echo Park hills, it does offer lovely mountain and hillside views—but they come with noise from the nearby freeway (or as some people call it, "the poor man's ocean").
