Designed by the illustrious Sumner P. Hunt way back in 1895, the five-story Irvine Byrne Building was only the second office building to be erected Downtown, after the nearby Bradbury, also produced by Hunt's firm. Now known as the Pan American Building, the Beaux Arts structure was given a $20-million makeover in 2006 and converted to lofts, one of which is currently being offered for lease on Craigslist. Per the ad, the available unit measures 940 square feet and features "bamboo floors, original exposed brick and concrete walls, 12-foot ceilings, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, private balcony, and gated parking." Monthly rent, including water, gas and basic cable, is $2,150.
