Jane Golden, the artist behind Santa Monica's imperiled 36-year-old "Muir Woods" mural, wrote an open letter thanking those trying to save her work, reports the Santa Monica Patch. Locals hosted a fundraiser last night to save "Muir Woods," which the principal of Olympic High, the building it covers, wants gone because she says it doesn't represent the area and the artist is no longer a local.
