A five-story residential building proposed for West Hollywood's tony Kings Road—it would replace an 86-year-old mansion that sits across from the Schindler House—faces the design review subcommittee tomorrow, WeHoville reports. The 34-unit project (with five affordable units) won accolades from the city's urban designer, Stephanie Reich, who was enraptured by the massing; sustainability; landscaping; and boxy, modern design. Reich's one complaint centered around the building's relationship with the street, which looks pretty nonexistent thanks to an absence of windows and an after-thought front door.
