UPDATED 4:20 PM: Hey, hope that continental breakfast is better than the hospital food: There are plans in the works an extended-stay hotel to be built on the USC Health Sciences Campus in Boyle Heights according to a press release. The four-story, 200-room hotel would come with 13,000 square feet of retail space, as well as facilities for conferences. USC's been planning some major expansion at the campus for a while, including a student housing facility almost as big as this hotel (178 units) and a daycare center; they're also committing $1 million in park upgrades to the adjacent Hazard Park. Though a developer has yet to be named, we're told a "prominent" developer in these parts is attached and will be announced soon, along with the hotel brand.
