8th+Hope's Art Space Opens With Look at People Who Built It

New, 1 comment

The handsome and expensive 8th + Hope tower at the nexus of South Park and the Financial District is now in the process of filling its 22 floors with renters and its arts-focused Ground Floor Project is getting active as well. Part of the building's sidewalk-facing space is devoted to the GFP, a convertible area featuring rotating art installations and musical performances. The first show premieres September 5, curated by local artist Bettina Hubby. 8th + Hope + Hubby will feature site-specific art from Hubby and 10 area artists affiliated with Pasadena's Side Street Projects, all focusing on construction and the urbanization of LA. "I am honored to be a part of a literal example of Los Angeles being built," Hubby says in a statement. Have a peek at the show, running until September 30, above and below.
