Depressed by the extremely depressing Highland Park Starbucks? Be jealous of the new one in Boyle Heights. The shop across from the Sears complex (which stands to receive a mega-overhaul) has all the trademarks of "the comfy albeit homogenized" coffee shop that the HLP outpost lacks: indoor seating, all that dark wood, a communal table. Regardless of location and fanciness, though, the Frappucinos are always the same. [ELA]
