12 Surf/Boogie/Skateboards Designed By Architects and Artists

For the A +D Museum's fundraiser last week, called Celebrate: Groundswell, big names in architecture and design—Arquitectonica, Richard Meier & Partners, Neil Denari, David Hertz, and many more—created custom surfboards, skateboards, and boogie boards in unusual/eye-catching designs and colors—just look at that eighties-fabulous Rios Clementi Hale surfboard! The "groundswell" concept was meant to invoke not just a surf-and-beach theme, but also the "surge of community support" that the Museum's had in the four years it's been in its home on Miracle Mile. Awww! Too bad that home is going to be demolished for the Purple Line subway soon (they're working on a move).
