Buy the Cowardly Lion's Paul Williams Spread (With Bowling Alley) For $28.5 Million

What do actress/pin-up girl Betty Grable, Beatle Paul McCartney, film exec/producer Alan Ladd Jr., reality TV stars the Osbournes, and one-time couple Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith have in common with Bert Lahr, the actor who famously played the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz? They've all lived in this enormous, gorgeous estate, says Variety. Designed by Paul Williams and built for Lahr in 1941, it's easy to see why the immense compound might be attractive to celebs.

The listing claims that the eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom house "emulates a supreme Connecticut / Hampton residence" with its vaulted living room ceilings and stuffed deer over the fireplace, but the media room with wet bar and indoor two-lane bowling alley scream Hollywood. There's also a two-bedroom guesthouse with separate entry and its own two-car garage; the property really makes the most of its 1.38 acres. Currently owned by a French clothing magnate, the house was listed in 2010 for $28.5 million, then in 2012 for $25.58 million, and now it's back to asking $28.5 million.
