Craftsman Compound With Pool in Echo Park Hills Asks $1.4MM

New, 27 comments

Well, here's a listing we wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers. Sited on a .68-acre lot high in the hills of Echo Park, this compound contains a sweet 1907 Craftsman with three bedrooms, two baths, hardwood floors, French doors, and a lovely stone fireplace, along with a quaint one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse that the copy informs us was built in 1926 by Gordon Ray Young, a writer of western and adventure tales and the literary critic for the LA Times. The bucolic grounds also feature a river rock pool and spa, and more than 30 varieties of fruit and specimen trees. Per the listing, "all major systems have been updated, including electric, plumbing, heat and air, pool, spa and roof." On the market for the first time in two decades, the compound is asking $1.395 million.
