That's right, Ron Cole, this is the Warner Grand Theatre in San Pedro. This photo is dated 1931—the same year that the theater opened. According to the photo's caption, the theater went through a "thirty-year decline" before it was recognized as something worth saving. Now, it's experiencing an ongoing restoration that's included some great work to bring back the Art Deco cinema; today the theater actually shows films and hosts events. And the renewal marches on: the theater just got a new, non-asbestosy curtain for its screen! We rounded up a few pictures that show off the stunning interior:
