Well, don't these mixed-use apartments in western West Hollywood have an airy new look. Not a whole lot's changed in the makeup the development at Santa Monica and West Knoll, as it will still have five stories and about 95 residential units, but the look, from Kappa Associates, is new. As seen in WeHoville, the new design for the building has two openings on its Santa Monica-facing side and includes two large courtyards. The building, developed by Soto Capital LP, will also have a 15-foot "stepback" on the western side of the complex to reduce the "perceived building mass." The 1.04-acre lot slated to for development is currently home to three two-story commercial buildings, a parking lot, and a single-family house. It's also just across the street from a housing-free mixed-user that will have a Sprouts grocery store. These new designs will be up for review at WeHo's Design Review Subcommittee meeting next week.
