Hint: Where Could You Catch a Movie at This '30s Movie Palace?

New, 6 comments

Welcome to Cornerspotter, a weekly Curbed game in which you try to identify the location and/or identity of a particular building or streetscape in a historic photograph. Impress us and your fellow Curbed readers with your uncanny insight into Los Angeles and its past!

Usually Cornerspotter asks for, well, a corner or intersection, but today it's more like Buildingspotter. This Art Deco movie theater opened in the thirties and was designed by B. Marcus Priteca, who also designed two other theaters very similar to this one, the Pantages in Hollywood, and many other theaters for both movies and live performance. Which movie house is this? Tell us the full name of the theater and where it is in the comments.
