What $3,900 A Month Can Rent You In 5 LA Neighborhoods

New, 18 comments

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a set dollar amount in various Los Angeles neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out finding listings for today's price: $3,900. Vote on the best one after the jump.

↑ This week's pricey Curbed Comps basically amounts to an all-Westside edition (with one exception), but even staunch Eastsiders might take a second look at this two-bedroom split-level in a new-ish building just off the main drag in downtown Culver City. The apartment's 20-foot ceilings and two terraces are yours for the "REDUCED!!" price of $3,895 a month.

↑ This third-floor unit has three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms within a stone's throw of Brentwood (but is actually in Sawtelle). It's also got on-site laundry, a balcony, a working fireplace, built-in cabinets, an incredible amount of shelving in the walk-in closet, and two parking spots plus storage space. All this for $3,950 a month.

↑ Go completely suburban in this Sherman Oaks house in a quiet neighborhood close to the Deervale-Stone Canyon Park. There are some recent upgrades to this traditional-looking three-bedroom house, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, plus a grass-light backyard and gated driveway parking. The rent is $3,950.

↑ Serious shoppers might only need to know that this two-bedroom, two-bathroom in Westwood is "about 700 feet from the entrance to the Century City Mall." Those who need more convincing might be swayed by the maple plank floors and high-end appliances (including new washer/dryer in-unit) in this apartment in a 2013 building. The rent here is $3,950 a month.

↑ Attention, eco-conscious renters: get your low-flow toilets, tankless water heaters, and dual-paned windows here! There are stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, in-unit washer/dryer, and high ceilings in this 1,300-square-foot West Hollywood unit, too. In addition to two bedrooms and two bathrooms, renters will have storage and two parking spots underground. Rent for this apartment just a few blocks west of Santa Monica and Crescent Heights Boulevards is $3,900.
