Here's a Look at the Almost-Finished Nail in the Arts District's Gentrification Coffin

If everything goes according to plan, the southern part of the Arts District's One Santa Fe will be complete in about six months, says DTLA broker/blogger Brigham Yen, who snapped these photos of what will eventually be a quarter-mile-long mixed-use development. Apparently some locals are worried that the project, designed by local starchitect Michael Maltzan, will be the tipping point that fully transforms the neighborhood's artsy "unfinished, old charm," but that ship has pretty much sailed. One Santa Fe will include 438 apartments, a 99-seat theater, and a grocery store called GROW, expected to open later this year.
