Glassell Park's NELA Union Townhomes Starting at $475K

New, 12 comments

Glassell Park's been doing a good job of becoming a desirable neighborhood, and hoping to cash in on that are the NELA Union townhouses, which are opening next week says Eastsider LA. The first wave of completed homes in the 52-residence development are expected to start at "$475,000 to the low $600,000 range" (Vague pricing's been a running theme with the NELA Union.) That's still kind of steep for the potential homebuyer who loves Northeast LA but whose "options for purchasing real estate have been limited," as the NELA Union site says, describing its target audience. Also an issue: the location of the development (right off the 2 Freeway), which could be a pro or a con, depending on how you get to work and how deep of a sleeper you are.

The three-story come in two-, three-, and four-bedroom open floor plans with front porches and second-level decks for all; the smallest measures approximately 1,550 square feet, while the largest is about 1,950 square feet. The eco-friendly features (tankless water heaters, low-E windows) incorporated into the homes helped them exceed California green building standards. Community amenities will include space for dogs to roam and a shared garden. The desired result is that residents feel that they're living in "a centrally located, park-like setting," says the development site.
