Against the wishes of city planners and urbanists, the City Council unanimously approved a pedestrian sky bridge connecting two "mixed-users" at Temple and the 110 being built by faux-Tuscan monstrosity developer GH Palmer. Planners twice rejected the bridge but Councilmember Jose Huizar brought the issue back to life, saying the amenity was not about residents stepping above the homeless—though that's exactly what Palmer said it was for in his request for the bridge.
