A Half-Acre Park with Waterfall Headed for Echo Park South

New, 8 comments

Construction is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks for Echo Park's newest neighborhood park just south of Temple Street and Glendale Boulevard, reports the Eastsider LA. The half-acre park and community garden in will cost an estimated $2.2 million and feature, from the looks of the above plans, a waterfall and stream, boulder seating, and two play areas tailored to children of specific age groups. The Patton Street Park, as its referred to on the Trust for Public Land's site, is in a nook of southern Echo Park where there are currently "many families with small children who have no place within walking distance to play." This park will be within a half-mile of 17,000 residents, a rep for TFPL told the Eastsider.
