[Before and after images via Los Angeles Public Library photo collection] It's unusual for us to get a before-and-after photo for Cornerspotter, so this is very exciting! According to the LA Public Library photo collection, the building in the first picture ("before") was "slated by the City Department of Building and Safety for slum clearance." The unsightly shanty made way for a beautiful parking lot. Progress! What intersection would this parking lot be closest to today?
