It's like the Crash Mansion nightclub and its parking lot were never on this lot at the corner of Olympic and Grand. This photo sent in by a tipster shows nearly everything cleared (it looks like the bulldozer's got one more pass to make), and that ancient-looking sign in the background, still surviving. Demolition on the Mansion was underway late last year, but now the whole lot is cleared for what's going to be a very busy corner. The dirt closest to the intersection, where there was once parking, was absorbed by Lennar's neighboring seven-story mixed-use project at Olive and Olympic's southwest corner. (The site was previously supposed to be an Urban Village development, but Lennar bought that out and plans to have part of its in-the-works project utilize the former UV land.) That's not the only seven-story rising on the block.
The ex-Crash Mansion site is destined to be (another) stubby seven-story mixed-user from busy developers Hanover (who have another seven-story in the works at Olympic and Hill in NoSoPa. Here's hoping all that ground-floor retail will jazz up this dead section of Olympic.
