Walt Disney's Super-Secluded Desert Party House Asks $595k

New, 17 comments

What makes this adorable house on three acres south of Palm Desert such a party palace? For starters, judging from the listing photos, you can't even see your nearest neighbors. Perhaps it was this advanced seclusion that drew homeowner Walt Disney and his high-profile friends Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and Humphrey Bogart to the spot over the years. (It was actually the guesthouse on Disney's estate, and 15 miles from the main house.) There was once even a zip line that allowed brave souls to zoom across the nearby canyon! According to The Hollywood Reporter, "People would go up there and party; half would sleep inside on sleeping bags, others on the deck." Probably because the 1,600-square-foot house has only one bedroom (and one and a half bathrooms). The house sits on a little under three acres of land and has sweeping views of the desert. It's asking $595,000.
