The first phase of the massive Blvd6200 mixed use project is readying for a Summer 2014 opening, according to the project web site. During our daily walk-by, we noticed new banners dubbing the project Eastown had popped up on the scaffolding of the project, which is rapidly nearing completion. It's an interesting choice for a name, especially given the zealousness we Angelenos express when confronted with directional monikers tied to our neighborhoods. Once completed, the project will drop 535 apartments, 75,000 square feet of retail, and 549 parking spaces in the middle of this dead stretch of Hollywood Boulevard between the Pantages Theater and the Pep Boys store.
