Boutique James Hotel Headed to Giant Sunset|La Cienega

New, 15 comments

The first hotel to be constructed new from the ground up in West Hollywood in about 30 years will be a fancy James hotel (the same brand that was long-discussed for a site on Sunset near San Vicente) and this one's going to be a doozy. When it's finished, the boutique hotel will include two 10-story towers, 286 rooms, two restaurants, bars in the lobby and on the roof, and 10,000 square feet of space for meetings, according to a release from the developers, CIM Group. CIM is hoping to open the James Los Angeles (the brand's first on the West Coast) in 2016; the two-tower building is just part of the group's Sunset|La Cienega megaproject (formerly Sunset Millennium and itself long-delayed), which will also include two more towers (eight stories tall), on the east side of the intersection, with up to 190 residential units and 40,000 square feet of retail space.
