34-Story Residential High-Rise Headed to Wilshire/Barrington

New, 49 comments

Maybe it's bad luck to say it, but it seems like Wilshire just west of Barrington may be getting a big tall residential tower by 2017. (Just across the street, the bw apartments were supposed to be 28 stories; the economic downturn shrunk them down to eight.) The Landmark Apartments, from developer Douglas Emmett Inc. and as seen on Building LA, are set to have 376 one- and two-bedrooms housed in a 34-story high-rise, and will also include a 4,700-square-foot retail building flush with Wilshire. What a busy little corner it will be! Landmark residents will enjoy private access to a pool and "landscaped terrace," as well as access to a downright palatial rec room and fitness center. While there's no rendering yet, the city planning documents do detail the building's "slim, concrete frame lined with floor-to-ceiling glazing accented by light metal and fritted glass panels."
