Sad news to report from the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, where beloved singing hostess/cashier and Bingo master-of-ceremonies Linda Gerard has passed away after a battle with cancer. "Gerard spent about four years hosting bingo and entertaining players. Most games took a while to finish because she often stopped to sing between calling numbers. The Ace created an album of her favorite recordings and it sold in the lobby for $20 alongside a Sissy Bingo T-shirt that promoted Gerard as 'Your singing hostess.'" [Desert Sun, image via]
