New Boutique Hotel in the Works for Hollywood/Western

New, 9 comments

All the development action around Sunset and Vine seems to be spreading east. Smack in the middle of the oft-overlooked section of Hollywood Boulevard between Wilton and Western (currently trying to rechristen itself as Hollywood Village), a developer is proposing a six-story, 80-room luxury boutique hotel that will cater to the "affordable luxury" market, says Building LA. A presentation given to the Hollywood Studio District Neighborhood Council shows that the environmentally-conscious, "European-style" hotel (where rooms are expected to be in the $180 to $220 range) will employ passive solar energy systems, recycled materials, low-flow fixtures, green roofs, and provide both bike parking and charging stations for electric cars. The hotel will also have a cafe and outdoor dining, lining up perfectly with desires of local shopkeepers who are dying to see foot traffic boosted in this slow little corner of Hollywood.
