Beverly Hills Mayor John Mirisch pushed passionately for the many lawsuits his city has launched against the Purple Line subway extension—now he's suing the state and county because they won't let him run for state senate. Mirisch missed a deadline to get his name placed on the June primary ballot as Republican candidate for the Twenty-Sixth District seat (he says he wasn't late; he faxed his paperwork). Funnily enough, Mirisch couldn't deliver his campaign papers personally because he was in DC trying to get Congress to pull funding for the subway. [Patch, previously]
