FASHION DISTRICT: The adorable Primrose Design building on South Spring is filling up with Santa Cruz-based Verve Coffee Roasters this summer. The shop will take up 1,800 square feet of groundfloor space, and a juice place and a restaurant architect are also moving into the building.
HOLLYWOOD: Vine Street gentrification creeps southward with news that a bar devoted to Peruvian sangria is moving into an old psychic's space. The bar comes from the owners of next door's Los Balcones, the Peruvian eatery that just got a big makeover.
SANTA BARBARA: The crazy couple that owns Pace Food + Drink on State Street is giving away their restaurant. The couple's sons aren't interested in taking over, so they're asking that those with interest pay $500 and submit a YouTube video explaining why they should inherit Pace. Winners will get one year of rent for free, $20k for expenses, plus mentoring from one of the owners.
