The Linn House, a Richard Neutra-designed angular number that's a well-known example of the mid-century-modern architect's "post and beam boxcars," has been on something of a real estate roller coaster in the last year or so. It was listed as a rental on Craigslist in May of last year, then it was up for sale in July, but there weren't any takers. Since then, the owners have shifted their focus to seeking historic-cultural monument status through the city. The first step in the three-step process, a preliminary hearing, is scheduled for March of this year, where the home will be "under consideration" for the status. Neutra's VDL Research House in Silver Lake is already a landmark, as is an office building he designed in Glendale.
