WEST HOLLYWOOD: Glazed Donut Bistro, which bills itself as "Donuts for Grownups," opens in Boystown on Valentine's Day. There'll be creative options, in both sweet and savory varieties, including brioche donut sliders with pulled pork and blackberry mojito donuts.
BEVERLY HILLS: The Jewish-themed restaurant on the fifth floor of the Barneys store in BH, formerly Barney Greengrass and now simply called the Barneys New York Restaurant, is shuttering in May for three months and relaunching as Fred's, an American restaurant concept already in the Chicago and New York stores.
SKID ROW: As if a restaurant featuring authentic food from Uzbekistan isn't novel enough, now picture it in Skid Row. A husband/wife team recently launched a Kickstarter to raise $18,000 for The Samarkand Cafe, which would open at Seventh and San Julian streets—they need about $10k in a week.
