Maybe it's the candy room, or the Yves Saint Laurent fire extinguishers, or the indoor car showroom, but something is compelling super-couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z to get mixed up in a bidding war for this over-the-top, $85-million mansion in Beverly Hills. TMZ says that the couple are up against three other parties (including some unnamed other celebs) all vying for the flamboyant home. But of course, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are presently the highest bidders.
The 23,000-square-foot mansion sits in the highly-coveted Trousdale Estates area of Beverly Hills and first came up for sale in a quiet, off-market listing in August, then hit the market publicly in September asking $85 million. It features eight bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, an underground garage, vast closets, a movie theater, and more weird art than anyone knew they needed.
Bey and Jay have reportedly been eyeing the estate since this past summer. Now a source tells TMZ that they and the seller "just a few million dollars apart" on the price and are expected to seal the deal around Christmas for a still-pretty-damn-heartstopping $70 million.
