In the wake of the ginormous blaze that left part of the under-construction Da Vinci apartments burned to a crisp, Councilmember Bob Blumenfield has introduced a motion that would take a closer look at wood-frame buildings. This type of construction is very popular, as it costs less and is considered more green than other methods, but "The fact that the building went up like it did begs the question, do we have the best, most appropriate standards?", Blumenfield asks.
