To cap off a year of free architecture and design programs, Design East of La Brea is holding its Making LA conference this Friday, November 7, with a whole day at the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens dedicated to the "urgent issues that Los Angeles faces in the areas of water, transportation, density, and community and how designers, architects, and artists are making a difference in their neighborhoods." Speakers will include Moby, Compton Mayor Aja Brown, LA seismologist Lucy Jones, and many, many others. All the details and ticket-purchasing opportunities are right here. [de LaB]
