Hitting the market for the fourth time in a decade is Silver Lake's Spencer Austrian Residence, designed by the brilliant Raphael Soriano in 1937. One of only a dozen Sorianos still in existence, the two-story home has undergone some not-insignificant alteration since its initial completion; according to the invaluable Triangle Modernist Houses, it originally "housed a two-car garage and a rental studio apartment with its own entrance" on its first floor, and an owner's unit on its second floor. Sited on a 7,507-square-foot hillside lot on the west side of the Silver Lake Reservoir, the "redefined" residence features, per its new listing, two bedrooms, two baths, a deck, terraced gardens, and an above-ground spa. Last sold in May 2013 for $1.318 million, it's now asking $1.55 million.
