It'll be 2016 before anyone can move into the seven-story mixed-user in South Park formerly known as G12, but here are the first sticks in the ground. This portion of the project was announced as the second part of a two-building project but seems to be pulling ahead of part one, at Grand and Twelfth.
The seven-story 12th & Olive will have 293 apartments (luxury rentals!) and more than 17,300 square feet of ground-level retail and restaurant space; the other building, 12th & Grand will have 347 units, also in seven stories. Both projects were designed by TCA Architects and come from Sonny Astani, who's developing the property for Wolff Company, the Arizona-based firm that owns it. According to a sign posted at the construction site, we can expect completion at Olive and Pico in the spring of 2016.
