The Expo Line extension to Santa Monica is now over 80 percent complete, with the stations starting to look like real, functioning stops. The Palms, Westwood/Rancho Park, and now Expo/Sepulveda stations have their shade and rain covers. The Sepulveda station also has a big parking garage that looks finished; that thing will come in handy when the line opens in late 2015 or early '16 (here's hoping Metro gets enough trains to operate the line).
A new sidewalk is coming on the west side of Sepulveda, so commuters can make their way to Pico; hopefully this augurs well for more changes to ped-unfriendly Sepulveda. A downsized mixed-user is also planned for this station, but plan on a long gestation, thanks to development-averse locals. —Neal Broverman
