1911 Hunting Lodge With Pool in Altadena Asking $729k

New, 13 comments

According to the listing copy, this 1911 Craftsman in Altadena was originally a hunting lodge, which seems appropriate, since whoever remuddled its kitchen ought to be hunted down and shot [Editor's note: Not really! Just being hyperbolic]. We can't swear to it, but from the photos, it appears the three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence has also been subjected to some not-especially-sensitive expansion over the years. Despite the ill-advised updates, the ol' gal still has plenty of appealing qualities, such as hardwood floors, wood-paneled walls and ceilings, built-in shelving and cabinetry, and a wood-burning stone fireplace. Other pluses include its sizable lot—9,571 square feet—with mature trees and a heated swimming pool, and "a newer roof, electrical, HVAC, solar panels and plumbing." Last sold in 2012 for $570,000, it's now asking $729,000.
