Hint: Brush Up on Your Dance Skills Here in the 1930s

Welcome to Cornerspotter, a weekly Curbed game in which you try to identify the location and/or identity of a particular building or streetscape in a historic photograph. Impress us and your fellow Curbed readers with your uncanny insight into Los Angeles and its past!

This pair of buildings has had both good luck and bad luck in that one of them survives today, while the other does not. The blade sign advertising dancing refers to the dance school inside the building to the left; the Art Deco building to its right was much more somber at the time the photo was snapped (sometime around 1937), when it was a bank. Do you know the intersection where this photo was taken? Tell us in the comments!
