What You Can Rent for $1,350 in Los Angeles Right Now

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, where we explore what you can rent or buy for a certain dollar amount in various LA 'hoods. Is one man's studio another man's townhouse? Let's find out! Our friends at Zumper have helped us out with five listings within $100 of today's price: $1,350.

↑ That fireplace is obviously non-functioning, but that doesn't mean it's non-charming. Spread out in this Koreatown one-bedroom, which measures in at a roomy 1,100 square feet—the bedroom has two walk-in closets and the unit has both front and back entrances. Except for the kitchen (which is nice in its own right), the apartment has that chic two-tone paint job throughout. All this for $1,300 a month.

↑ This Palms apartment calls itself "cozy," but in this case it doesn't appear to be a euphemism for claustrophobic. Located right on National Boulevard near Overland, the groundfloor one-bedroom unit seen here has some nice tiled-kitchen-backsplash action going on, as well as plush new carpet. There is only street parking available. Rent is $1,295.

↑ A top-floor unit, this Mid-Wilshire one-bedroom has some shiny wood floors and promises "a rare sense of charm." The listing also counts as an amenity the fact that the manager lives on-site, which renters know can be a blessing or a curse, depending on your lifestyle. No mention in the listing of the parking situation, but no news is never good news when it comes to parking. The rent, which includes trash and water, is $1,350.

↑ There's no square footage listed for this two-bedroom in Inglewood (just a few blocks west of the huge mixed-user that's planned on the old Hollywood Park site), but it doesn't look cramped. Wood floors, large windows, and sizable closets are all part of the deal with this groundfloor unit. Rent is $1,299 a month.

↑ A few blocks south of the Americana in Glendale, we find this upper-floor one-bedroom apartment with an assigned parking spot. Huzzah! The unit's not huge—around 600 square feet—but it's got front and rear entrances, granite countertops, wood floors, and on-site laundry. The rent is $1,250.
