Angeleno Stephen Corwin, who ditched his car six months ago and still catches hell for it, asks a very good question: we shame people out of drinking and driving in LA, and we shame people out of overusing water, so why don't we shame people into driving less? Not everyone has access to transit and bike infrastructure yet, of course, but, he says, "[i]f you live in Los Angeles, in an area that doesn't necessitate a car, but you still choose to drive one anyway, you are the problem, and you deserve to be shamed."
